About Eric

I grew up in a small town in Ohio, where community was part of everyday life. Music was another important part of that experience, and I earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Otterbein University. Although I hoped to become a teacher, I was unable to find a teaching position for three years. That unexpected delay led me to a small medical-supply company and began my journey into business and technology.

My path later moved into technology, product development, and organizational leadership. Over the past fifteen years, I have worked with teams at organizations including Abbott Nutrition, Business Wire, MoneyGram, Kaiser Permanente, and Centene. As a Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Release Train Engineer, I have helped people collaborate, solve problems, and move meaningful work forward across healthcare, financial services, and technology.

Those experiences have reinforced something I first learned growing up: growth is rarely a solo activity. The way we work, communicate, build relationships, and participate in our communities shapes who we become.

Grow With Eric is a place for thinking and conversation about becoming better versions of ourselves—and putting that growth into action. I write about community, connection, emotional openness, mindfulness, and the everyday choices that help us treat ourselves and other people better.
